He was born and then he learned a few things, being self-taught, and later mentored by Fernanda Cohen. He was involved in around a dozen fine art shows--selling pieces to private collections; worked with Fernanda Cohen on some of her murals; and had his illustrations projected during the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra's rendition of Strauss's Don Quixote, at Williamsport's historical Community Arts Center. Oh, he also worked with Dana Adam Shapiro drawing and animating a short that made it into Tribeca, Sundance, and a big bunch of animation festivals.

He naturally makes his illustrations like he makes his music--by creating separate pieces with which he samples, then arranging them like he did in the old DIY "cut n' paste" days. It took years for him to hone a style that balanced all his favorite elements: conceptual expression, form, figuration, graphic sensibility, and simplicity.

It's quite a treat to use this voice in aesthetic problem solving, he says. Even though he's sometimes awkward and soft spoken, I like him and like being around him. Moreno is a Filipino American Pennsylvania native, currently based in Brooklyn, NY.
